From Ballpark to Boardroom: Lessons for CEOs from a little league coach
"I have two disturbing pieces of information for you," said Dean George Packer Barry, of Yale's School of Medicine, to a graduating class in 1939. "Half of what we taught you is not true. However, the most disconcerting piece is that we don't know which half it is." excerpt from From Ballpark to Boardroom: Lessons for CEOs from a little league coach.
John Abraham spent many years coaching at Shaw Park, and has written a book relating how the aspects of working with little kids are not that much different than working with the big kids downtown.

Shaw Park Opening Day - Spring 2009
Saturday, March 7th, Shaw Park opened the Spring season with a day full of baseball, games and fun for everyone.

The weather was warm, the sun was shining, and everyone was playing ball.
This year there are 5 leagues and several travel teams hosting 576 kids on 54 teams.
Dave Audia from the gLove story was in attendance at the park collecting old gloves for donation to underprivliged youth around the world, and repairing gloves for our kids. Their goal for 2009 is collect and distribute 10,000 donated gloves to underprivileged youth in the Dominican Republic, Canada, the Middle East, and the USA
Jumpy Fun (a Shaw Park Sponsor) provided games and inflatable activities for the kids to enjoy. Everyone had fun jumping, and sliding before, between, and after baseball.
Here are some images from opening day at Shaw Park, 2009.
