Cobb County Athletics on Facebook
The Cobb County Athletics Unit now has a facebook page. We will be posting information relative to all aspects of our unit programs and we would love for you to become a fan. Just hit the link below and you will be directed to our page. Also, please pass this along to your teammates, parents, or coaches so they will have access as we want to reach out to as many of our participants as possible.
If any of our youth or adult teams win a tournament or do well in a competition, please send your athletic coordinator a write up (you can also include a picture) and we will publish it on facebook. We want facebook to be a valuable source of information for all our athletic programs!

From Ballpark to Boardroom: Lessons for CEOs from a little league coach
"I have two disturbing pieces of information for you," said Dean George Packer Barry, of Yale's School of Medicine, to a graduating class in 1939. "Half of what we taught you is not true. However, the most disconcerting piece is that we don't know which half it is." excerpt from From Ballpark to Boardroom: Lessons for CEOs from a little league coach.
John Abraham spent many years coaching at Shaw Park, and has written a book relating how the aspects of working with little kids are not that much different than working with the big kids downtown.
Read more, and buy the book at www.ballparktoboardroom.com or at John's website www.drjohnabraham.com

Shaw Park is using a new Rainout Hotline!!
As you can see above, the status of all fields is displayed on this website for all to easily see. When the status changes because of rainy, wet conditions, an email is automatically sent to all registered users (from the Shaw Park registration form). Additionally, the system can send a text message to your cell phone. To add, change, or delete an email or cell phone number in the system, follow these simple steps:
- Click on the link called Edit your Email/Text notifications in the status window above.
- Enter the email address that you registered with, and click on the Look-up your email button. (if you have not registered before, enter your email and press the button to add a new User Email account. The Account Code you will need is 'Shaw').
- Follow the direction and enter up to 5 emails and 5 cell phone numbers of your choice.
- Test each address or cell phone entered to be sure you receive the message by clicking on the icon to the right of the number.
